This rare and often fatal disease which originated in West Africa has crossed not only the borders of neighboring countries, but has, for the first time ever, spread to the continents of North America and Europe as well.

Thousands of people are unsure what to believe and what not to believe, resulting in panic, hysteria, and even paranoia among the general public. What is real and what is made up? Myths almost always have a basis in fact, so how did some of the myths originate?

Find the answers you need and the information you want, put your mind at ease, and within these pages, learn 12 things you need to know to survive the Ebola outbreak.

We may have little control over the spread of the Ebola virus to various parts of the world as a whole, but we do have control over whether the Ebola virus is going to affect our own lives and the lives of those we love. By taking the necessary steps to prepare ourselves and educate ourselves about the Ebola virus we can and we will prevent the virus from controlling our lives.

Well, Ebola is Back In The News

This is very scary! People who thought that they were cured of the Ebola virus are having relapses about one year later. There have been other complications reported in other Ebola patients. What about all of the thousands that had been "cured" of Ebola in Africa?? This can turn out to be a very nasty re-outbreak.

Ebola Returns: 2nd Case of Relapse Raises Questions

Second Ebola Nurse Now In Critical Condition

Commercial Restaurant Equipment

Planning Ahead Reduces Stress
Running a restaurant or dining operation requires great attention to detail. There are many aspects that must be considered. The daily practices of running a food service operation involve more than just food. Finances, inventory and other business functions must also be considered. There are a few ways to ensure that the operations flow smoothly.

Focus on Food First
The food is perhaps the most important focal point. The menu is what will attract potential customers to a dining establishment. Review the menu carefully and take note of the most popular items. It is important to always have proper inventory on hand so that there is never a delay in preparing the items that customers enjoy most.

Train Staff Consistently
It is also important to train staff so that each staff member prepares a menu item the same way every time. Repeat customers will develop expectations, and consistency will help keep them satisfied. Make sure that each dish looks and tastes the same way every time. Menu items should only be prepared differently in cases where a customer specifically requests a change.

Make sure that there are always enough staff members to handle the demands of the business. Monitor sales for each hour that the restaurant is open to determine how many staff members will be needed. It is typical to have more staff on hand during busier times, such as lunch or dinner. Slower time periods may only require minimal staffing.

Use Professional Equipment
Part of making sure that items consistently have a quality appearance is keeping quality ingredients stored correctly. Using commercial restaurant equipment is a way to have enough storage space to keep an adequate inventory. Restaurants who do not have adequate space are sometimes forced to substitute their usual ingredients with items of a lower quality. For example, a refrigerator that is too small may cause a restaurant to run out of an essential ingredient. Professional suppliers, such as Mission Restaurant Supply, can provide kitchen equipment that offers plenty of storage space.

These suggestions will help make operating a food service establishment easier. It can be difficult to juggle all of the demands of food service. Tracking sales, using proper equipment and having a trained staff can lighten the workload.

Another Dollar Tree Find

Every time that I go to Dollar Tree they have some new item that looks so good. A while back they had these sauce packs that were great in the crockpot - I had gotten the stir fry one that was so good.  This one is for the skillet. You fry up some ground beef and then add this sauce to it. Have not tried it yet, but it will probably be as yummy as the other flavors. The only bad thing is that this is one of those things that you get at Dollar Tree once and then they never have them again. You have to watch for items like that. Get them while they have them.

Must Have Item ~ Food Storage

These packets of gravy mix and seasonings are a low cost way to add variety to your food storage. You can do just about anything with them. I use the brown gravy ones to season my roast that I slow cook in my crock pot. The country gravy is great for putting over pork chops, country fried steak, and biscuits.  These packets are a frugal person's dream. I usually get them about a $1.00, but sometimes they are on sale 2 for $1.00. Watch for the sales and stock up!! Keeps your food storage from getting boring. These are a great way to season up things and turn a boring meal into something fabulous. The chicken gravy can make instant potatoes taste a lot better!!
