Food Storage Recipe - Frozen Fruit Pops

Before we went to the pool this afternoon I made some of these up so they would be done when we got home. They are awesome and the perfect thing to cool you off after a hot day out.

You NEED:

3 cups of strawberries

1 cup of water

2/3 cup of sugar

1 envelope of unsweetened strawberry koolaid

Wash the strawberries well and pull the stems off. Put them into a bowl and mash them up with a fork until they are smooth.

Stir in the water, sugar, and the koolaid mix. Pour the mixture into ice pop molds.

Cover them up and freeze for a few hours.

KFC Popcorn Chicken Recipe - Create This Incredible Snack in Your Own Home!

If you have been stressing over what you can serve the kids at snack time, then your worries are over because not only is the KFC popcorn chicken or chicken poppers are fun and easy to make, they will also give the kids a delicious chicken treat. Not only will the kids enjoy eating the KFC popcorn chicken, you and your friends will, too.

I'm going to show you my favorite "copy" of KFC's popcorn chicken. It has taken lots of time and effort to "reverse engineer" this one - getting the spices and coating to taste like the real thing isn't very easy!

However, with a little trial and error - it won't take you long to find the flavors you're looking for.

Here are the ingredients:

1 pound of boneless and skinless chicken breast
2 tsp. of all-purpose flour
½ tsp. of powdered sugar
½ tsp. of freshly ground pepper
¼ tsp. of salt
1/8 tsp. of onion powder
2 egg whites
2 tbsp. of milk (fat-free)
¾ cup of Panko bread crumbs
Olive oil spray for greasing

What you must do is preheat the oven to 475 degrees Fahrenheit. Set a tray with a non-stick baking sheet and coat it with the olive oil. Set that aside first. Then you must place the chicken on a cutting board and cover the top with a sheet of waxed paper. Pound the chicken until it achieves a uniform thickness of about a quarter of an inch. After that, uncover the piece of chicken and cut it up into 25 even-sized pieces that should become your popcorn chicken.

Now you must do the flour mixture. Take the flour, sugar, pepper, salt, and onion powder, and mix them thoroughly in a bowl. Then take the chicken pieces and coat them with the flour mixture. Set them aside for a while, and in another small bowl, mix the egg whites and the milk. Beat them with a fork until the mixture becomes smooth.

Put a large quantity of bread crumbs on a sheet of waxed paper and set it right next to the egg-milk mixture. Now take the chicken pieces dipped in the flour mixture and dip them into the egg-milk mixture and then dip them into the bread crumbs. Do this one by one for the chicken pieces. Place each finished chicken piece onto the non-stick baking sheet which you prepared earlier and make sure that there are equal spaces between the chicken pieces.

Spray the chicken pieces with olive oil and season them lightly with salt and pepper before placing the tray in the oven. Bake the chicken pieces for 5 minutes and them flip the chicken pieces, and bake again for another 5 to 7 minutes in the oven.

If you would really like to make the chicken more like how KFC popcorn chicken recipes are really made, you can try to pressure fry the chicken. But nonetheless, these popcorn chicken pieces are supposed to be delicious and enjoyable regardless of whether you use this technique.

Five Simple Steps to Perfect BBQ Pork Ribs

In my opinion ribs should be full of flavor, moist, and fall of the bone; perfection. Amazingly if you follow a simple five step process you can't fall to get ribs exactly like that. You will however need a grill with a lid, like a kettle barbecue. You do need a little preparation prior to cooking your ribs. You'll need to set-up your grill for indirect cooking. In the case of a charcoal barbecue put all your coals on one side of the grill and none on the other side.

Your first step is to put a barbecue rub over your ribs, on both sides. Make your own rub or buy some and rub it well into the ribs. Then put the ribs in the fridge for at least a couple of hours, or overnight.

Step two is to grill your ribs over direct heat. Remove the ribs from the fridge about 20 minutes prior to cooking and allow to get to room temperature. Grill your ribs for 5 to minutes on each side until they've taken on a nice color.

Step three takes most of the time as you're going to use indirect heat. Grab yourself an oven dish large enough to put the ribs and some liquid into. Put your ribs into the oven dish and pour in some liquid. I usually use about 250 ml of hard cider but you could use other liquid like water, orange juice or cola. Then cover the dish tightly with a double thickness of kitchen foil. Place the dish over the part of the grill with no coals under it, put on the lid of the barbecue, shut the barbecue vents and leave for about an hour. After an hour have a quick check that there's still some liquid in the oven dish. You'll probably see that the meat is pulling back from the bones and you can eat them now if you like but I like to cover them up again after adding more cider if necessary, and cooking for about another hour.

Step four is a final bit of grilling. Take the ribs from the dish and cook over direct heat for about five minutes each side, then put them back over the indirect heat side of the grill and cover the grill.

Step five is to make some barbecue sauce. Pour remaining liquid out of the oven dish into a pan. Take the pan into your kitchen, put over the heat and make some barbecue sauce by adding whatever you have to hand. Try adding some tomato ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Bring to the boil and then simmer to reduce and thicken. When your sauce is ready remove your ribs from the grill, cut into separate ribs, pour over the sauce and serve. This is a really simple way to make BBQ ribs and possibly looks a little more complex than it really is. To make it even simpler if you want you could just buy a good quality barbecue sauce.
