This is another great recipe that I found in a magazine and turned it into some thing that uses what I have in my food storage. I sub the ground beef with my ground beef flavored TVP. You have to put equal amounts of the TVP and boiling water to make it up. Then I kind of keep it in the pan for a couple of minutes longer to kind of give it a "fried" texture. Cut a box or 2 of prepared cheese product that is Mexican style into cubes and add to the meat. (Velveeta Mexican, Mild) Melt it all together. Depends on how much you are wanting to make. I can use 1 box and it be enough for the 4 of us to munch on while watching movies. If you like it really spicy - you can also add a can or 2 of diced tomatoes with green chilis to this while it is melting. Right before you serve it add some diced green onion. Serve this with tortilla chips. USE GROUND BEEF IF YOU WANT TO.

Food Storage Recipe - Chicken Carbonara
Just got done eating a plate of this. It was so yummy. I seriously do not know what is the matter with my camera now, though. Now the darn flash goes off anytime I take a photo, even when there is plenty of sunshine coming in the open back door! So my photos lately are looking simply horrible. But, please , take my word for it - THIS WAS YUMMY!
Chicken Carbonara
8 ozs of uncooked spaghetti - I used Angel Hair - it cooks a lot quicker.
1 cup of frozen baby sweet peas
3 slices of bacon
2 cups of the Keystone All Natural Canned Chicken
1 jar of Alfredo sauce
In a saucepan cook the spaghetti as directed. Add the frozen peas at about the last 2-3 minutes of cook time with the spaghetti. Drain it all and put it back into the saucepan. While that was cooking you should have fried up the bacon to really crispy, but not burned. Crumble it up when it is done. Stir the sauce, bacon, and chicken into the pasta and pea mixture. Cook over a low heat until it is heated through! About 5 minutes. Serve it with parmasean cheese grated over it. Serve this with a salad and some garlic bread. Great little meal that is very filling and yummy.

Food Storage Recipe - Beef & Broccoli
My hubby said that this is not really a food storage recipe. But , it is a frugal one. The pictures are horrible though. LOL
I buy meat at our local grocery when they have meat sales or manager specials is what they are called. They mark the meat down A LOT!! I get these little mock steaks , usually 5.00 or more a pack for 1.50! A lot of people think because the meat is marked down it is not good. That is wrong. It is good. Take it right home and freeze it. Our grocery also marks down their fresh baked items too. Just keep an eye out for markdowns. You can save a ton of money that way.
This is one of the easiest recipes. I take a pack of those mock steaks, I think that is what they are called , not sure why. I put them in a pan with some soy sauce and a bit of water. Let them "slow cook" covered until I can cut them into strips. Add 1 bag of frozen chopped broccoli, onion, and green pepper. This time I actually had an onion. But, I had to use my dehydrated green pepper dices. Let this all cook until the onion is just turning clear. Serve over rice. That is it. Add more soy sauce to your taste and that is it. YUMMY!!!!!!
