DIY Upside-Down Tomato Planters

This is a great thing to do with any extra cloth reusable bags that you have laying around. I have quite a few of them that I have gotten free in the mail.

This is so easy to do. Take the bag, cut a small hole in the bottom, insert the root ball (I wrapped the root ball in the fabric first to make it easier to get it through the hole), spread the fabric out across the hole to keep the soil in, add the soil, and water thoroughly. Hang up somewhere strong because these are HEAVY. Also , remember to hang them where they will get full sunshine for a few hours a day.

Use the smaller sized reuseable bags. This can get too heavy in one of those bigger sized bags.

You can also do this with a hanging planter. Just use the same idea with cutting a hole into the bottom of the pot.

Wood Burning Barrel Stove Kit

I saw one of these Wood Burning Barrel Stove Kits at the local True Value today and have to say that it is such a neat idea. I want one now. They only had one left and the salesperson walked by and heard me talking to my husband about it and how neat the idea was and she said that they had sold 29 of them today alone!!! How great that other people are thinking about being prepared and taking care of their families. I wonder where someone would get one of those big metal , burn safe, barrels from though????

ANYONE HAVE ONE OF THESE OR KNOWS ABOUT THEM PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!

Having a campfire pie iron can be awesome way to cook meals. Easy to use. Get one for everyone. You can cook anything in one.

 1 tablespoon butter or oil

Pinch of paprika

1 egg

Salt and pepper to taste

Prepare the campfire.

Grease both sides of the pie iron with some butter or vegetable oil.

Add the potatoes, onion powder, and 1 tablespoon of butter or oil.

Close and latch the pie iron

Place the pie iron over the coals and cook until the potatoes begin to brown.

Remove the pie iron from the coals.

Use a fork to create a nest-like hollow in the center of the potatoes.

Break the egg into the hollow.

Top with paprika, salt, and pepper.

Close the pie iron and cook until the eggs are cooked well and the potatoes are browned.

Remove the pie iron from the coals.
