 Get a little fancy with this yummy recipe. Serve with some garlic bread.

NEED:

1 package of frozen fully cooked breaded chicken patties ( you can also use chicken nuggets if you have them!!)

1 jar of traditional pasta sauce

2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 box (8 oz) spaghetti

In a 2 quart baking dish arrange the chicken.

Top each one with pasta sauce and sprinkle with the cheeses.

Bake at 400 degrees until the chicken is done and cheese is melted.

Heat the remaining sauce.

Boil water in a large pot and cook the spaghetti as the package instructs you to while the chicken is cooking.

Serve the chicken over the spaghetti!

I make our garlic bread from those little breads that come in a loaf for a dollar at walmart. Just put butter on them and some garlic salt. Bake until slightly toasted. They can over cook fast. Watch them.

What's in Your 72 Hour Bag?

You have already heard about survival kits, and you see the importance of protecting yourself and your family by having one for each member of the family. These kits are also known as 72 hour survival kits, disaster kits, emegency kits or emergency disaster kits. Whatever you call them, the question now is, what should you put in your survival kit.

According to the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the Dept for Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness experts your survival kit should contain at least the following.

* Water -
* Food -
* Flashlight
* Waterproof blanket / sleeping bag
* Emergency Radio
* First Aid Kit

Those are just the bare essentials, you may want to include several other items to help you make it through an emergency, and perhaps even allowing you help others. Other items you could consider are:

Light and Communication:

Hand cranked cellphone charger

Rechargeable Squeeze Flashlight

36 Hour Emergency Candles - These can also be used for a emergency stove

Green Emergency Glow Sticks - These typically last 12 hours each

Survival Whistle

Compass

Signal mirror

Flint starter - for starting fires

Waterproof containers or bags

Box of 50 Waterproof Matches

Bic Style Lighter

Shelter and Warmth:

Emergency Survival Sleeping Bag

6-20 Hour Body Warmer - these can heat up in minutes with an average temperature of 130 degrees.

2-Person Tent

Emergency Poncho with Hood

Tools:

Mulit-Function Knife

Leather Palm Working Gloves

Respirator Dust Masks

At least 45 Feet of Nylon Rope

Hygiene and Sanitation:

Toothbrush

Toothpaste

Wipes

Dental floss pick

Hand and body lotion

Feminine Hygiene items

After putting toghether these essential, you can also add items that may be of particular interest to you, or add prescription medications that you would need to keep taking. Perhaps an extra set of eyeglasses.

The best way to pack these items is in a backpack or other easily portable container that you can easily grab and go when an emergency strikes.

A 72 hour survival kits are worth their weight in gold during a disaster, I have over 20 years Military experience and have provided emergency relief several times, and I know that having a survival kit is indispensible. I would never go into a disaster relief situation without the proper survival supplies. I strongly advise everyone to have a emergency disaster survival kit for every member of the family

Homemade Anti-Viral Room Sprays

Free Kindle Book - Homemade Anti-Viral Room Sprays

It’s a fact. You can help eliminate germs and fight viruses with homemade anti-viral room sprays.

Did you know, some airborne virus particles can float for a few hours before they fall and cling to a new surface? Once they come into contact with the new surface, the length of time they live there varies from surface to surface. For instance, some can live on cloth for two days, stainless steel for two to three days, and glass for four days.

Not only do essential oils fragrance your home, but also, they are useful in helping to fight nasty viruses and eliminate germs. This dual-purpose means that homemade anti-viral room sprays and air fresheners go a long way towards protecting your home and the health of those you love.

You may already know that eucalyptus, tea tree, and thyme essential oils have anti-viral properties. But are you also aware than cinnamon, clove, orange, and rosemary EOs are known for their anti-viral properties also?

So, why not use a combination of essential oils to provide fragrance to homemade room sprays along with their disinfecting and anti-viral properties? The good news is; you can certainly do this by using these homemade room spray recipes.

In this book, you will actually discover how to combine grain or rubbing alcohol and a handful of basic ingredients along with a blend of essential oils to create 50 homemade anti-viral room spray recipes.

DIY Upside-Down Tomato Planters

This is a great thing to do with any extra cloth reusable bags that you have laying around. I have quite a few of them that I have gotten free in the mail.

This is so easy to do. Take the bag, cut a small hole in the bottom, insert the root ball (I wrapped the root ball in the fabric first to make it easier to get it through the hole), spread the fabric out across the hole to keep the soil in, add the soil, and water thoroughly. Hang up somewhere strong because these are HEAVY. Also , remember to hang them where they will get full sunshine for a few hours a day.

Use the smaller sized reuseable bags. This can get too heavy in one of those bigger sized bags.

You can also do this with a hanging planter. Just use the same idea with cutting a hole into the bottom of the pot.

A Bug Out Bag on a Budget

Survival preparation can be an expensive endeavor, especially if your budget is already tight from bills and other every day expenses. It simply might not be possible to afford many of the expensive items needed. But you should not let this discourage you from creating your own bug out bag; there are alternatives that can save you money while building an effective bag for your survival. Build the Perfect Bug Out Bag: Your 72-Hour Disaster Survival Kit

Bags

To buy a hiking bag at a camping supply store can range between 60 to a few hundred dollars, for many this is where their plan of building a bug out bag ends. While these bags are excellent their price is simply out of reach if you're on a tight budget. Fortunately there are alternatives that can save you a lot of money while still getting a top quality bag. Remember you don't need something fancy, you want rugged and reliable. Check with military surplus stores, depending on where you live there should be at least one or two within a decent distance from where you live. If you don't mind the bag being a little used you can pick up a rucksack or another suitable bag for as little as 20 bucks (This is exactly what I paid for mine at a military surplus store where I used to live, including tax)

Supplies

Items such as a magnesium fire starter, water proof matches, emergency rain ponchos, and glow sticks can be found at stores such as Wall-Mart for very cheap. While I'm not a fan of the store they offer most of these items for fewer than 10 dollars. Rain ponchos and emergency blankets for example can cost as little as 1.20 (Depending on where you live), they also take no room in your bag so you can store lots of them. For matches you can buy packages' of 4 for around 2 dollars, and magnesium fire starters for as little as 5.

Food

Buying rations can be expensive; sticking with canned food is a cheaper alternative. Canned soup for example can be as a little as under a dollar a can. Check with stores that sell food in bulk as this may save additional money when purchasing larger cans. Remember to watch the salt content; you want to avoid food with high amounts of salt as this can dehydrated you.

Spare Clothes

One should always have a couple changes of warm clothing (Depending on season and your location). To save money on spare clothing there are a couple options. One is to check with stores that sell discount clothing such as Winner's or an equivalent, I've seen winter jackets for example as low as 20 dollars (Canadian). Another option if your budget is really tight is to check second hand stores such as Goodwill which sell used clothing. Remember to always check over anything you buy that's used to ensure it's not to worn out and damaged. Generally these types of stores will allow you to purchase a large amount of clothing for very cheap. I was able to find a whole garbage bag full of useful clothing such as military surplus, jackets, toques, gloves, and even a sleeping bag that is rated to minus 40 Celsius for about 25 dollars, all of it was in like new condition, and the sleeping bag still had the original store tag on it.

Other Places To Look

The key for anyone looking to do anything on a budget is to think outside the box and look in areas that most would overlook. Other places to look for supplies for your bug out bag while keeping the cost down are the following

-Garage Sales

-Flea Markets

-Liquidation Stores

-Dollar Stores

-Craig's List (Be careful with online shopping, there are many scam artists out there)

-Going out of business sales

-Classifieds

These are just a few ideas to get you started. To find more useful post apocalypse survival information and tips check out my website The Razors Edge a post apocalypse survival guide.
