Our Garden Is Producing!

We are finally getting some veggies out of our garden. YAY!! I pulled 3 Zuchinni off this morning and there are bunches of tomatoes on the plants that I will probably be able to pick this weekend. I like them to vine ripen. The baby corn is getting close. I wish the green peppers and Brussel Sprouts would have grown. Also the heat , I guess, got to the finger cucumbers! I am not sure how well the green beans are going to do. That Zuchinni kind of took over that part of the garden and the green beans are stunted and slow growing now. Every little bit helps though. Cannot wait to make some Zuchinni bread and fried Zuchinni. Yummo.

Jailed For Gardening This is a scary story.

This HEAT!!

This heat is so excessive. We now have a heat index of 117 degrees. WOW! In Indiana!! That is just nuts and so unsafe. Yesterday it was about 110 degrees and our little one got sick just from going to the grocery store. That little bit of time and he was sick. We came home and he had a fever and fell asleep. I have been giving him cool baths and he now is feeling a bit better. He asked to watch cartoons. So I can just imagine how sick someone would get if they were out in this oppressive heat for longer amount of time. Scary thought. Our AC is not working too good , it is being over worked. Plus we have been having power surges off and on the past couple of days that has blown out a couple of light bulbs. I am now just keeping the bare minimum on. No lights, TV is off, Had salad for dinner, and am about to shut this off so then the only thing that will be on will be the AC and fridge. See if that will work. Tomorrow will be just as hot if not hotter.

Everyone please keep cool, do not let your kids outside, keep your pets cool , and PLEASE do not let anyone sit in a car!! Keep safe and cool. Stay inside and read, play games, work puzzles, talk, draw, color ( like me and my little one have been!) , and stay cool!!!!

Not Too Much Longer...

I should have a computer soon. I am saving for a netbook that is only about 200.00!!! I am thinking that in about 3 weeks I will have the savings for one. I hope. Than I will be able to get back to writing and working. Using my son's computer is ok for checking emails and stuff, but I can't really sit in his room for too long and do stuff on here . LOL Oh well soon.

Garden Is Loving This Humid Weather

Still am having trouble of not having my own computer, but at least one good thing is happening this week - Our garden has been growing a lot with all of this humidity. I think. I might be wrong, but it seems like this past week the garden plants have tripled in size. Just loving the heat, sun , and humidity. Oh and the few pop-up storms. I have not had to water the garden, but once this past week. The man across the way put a bunch of mulch around his trees and some flowers in the front of his place. I noticed him when we left to go to the store yesterday and we all waved at each other. Well, when we came home, there was a small pile of mulch in front of our small garden and a note saying to put this around the veggies!! How nice is that??? I guess we do have a couple of nice neighbors. LOL

Having No Computer Is Not Good!

I really am not liking not having my own computer anymore. I am so behind in the news. My son just so happened to go to a friends house to watch the NBA draft and that is the only way that I am on here now. I am trying to catch up on news. A lot happened in the past couple of days. It is so sad that I do not know what is going on since I have no cable, and now no computer. I am so down in the dumps right now. I am reading the new articles from my favorite blog, The last one is this interesting one - “Super EMP” Capable of Disabling Power Grid Across Lower 48 States. Very scary stuff there. I have read the Book One Second After a couple of times and having an all out EMP attack would be horrible. I guess the only thing that we can all do is prepare for the worst.
