50 Easy Ways to Become More Sustainable

50 Easy Ways to Become More Sustainable

Great ideas! I love sharing other blogs and such to give others ideas on how to be self sufficient!

How To Make Firewood From Recycled Paper (With Pictures): Firewood from recycled paper is easy to make and, once you have a basic setup, you make the stuff on a regular basis whenever the paper piles up.

Securing A Home

I have been thinking about how to secure my home the last several weeks. Really worried about the huge windows I have. Would really love to get something like these Window Bar Guard or even figure out a way to do it myself. There are Security Motion Lights on the back of my house. Need some on the front.

Really want some things that I can do myself and not cost an arm and a leg! Really want to figure out somehow to secure garage door when not in use. I open it a lot. But would love to have an idea of a way to secure it if bugging in and then would not be using it. I would think.

I have these Portable Door Lock for every door. They are inexpensive and do work at keeping the door shut.

ANY IDEAS WOULD BE APPRECIATED!

DIY Quick Rice

Sometimes you just have to have quick rice. This is great to have on hand when you can just boil water. Camping recipes can be more filling with rice. This is an easy way to make some rice be a fast meal.

Cook the rice up like it says to on the package. Place the warm rice into your Food Dehydrator , using the Dehydrator Sheets Round Dehydrators Fruit Roll Up Fruit Leather Circle ReUsable Flexible Non Stick Sheets. Spreading the rice out as well as you can. Dehydrate at 135 degrees for at least 5 to 7 hours. Every once in while stir the rice around to separate the grains. Dry them until they ping when you drop them onto the counter. Let them cool and store them in an air tight container.

Using it in recipes is super quick and it stores very well.
