Now, just to find clay flower pots, which I cannot find anywhere in my small town. Even last Spring all the local stores had were the plastic ones that look like the clay!

You might radiate the heat differently, but unless there is a chemical reaction in the pots to the heat (and there isn't), you cannot get more heat out than you put in.
