2 1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1/8 cup butter or margarine

1/4 cup milk

1/2 cup canned sweet potato , mashed

1 Teaspoon cinnamon , optional

Preheat the oven to 425 degrees

Stir the flour, baking powder, salt, and brown sugar together.

Cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture is coarse, like cornmeal.

Stir in the milk and sweet potato.

Knead a few minutes.

Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thick.

Cut into rounds that are about 2 1/2 inch round.

If you want to you can sprinkle them with some cinnamon.

Bake on an ungreased baking sheet for about 12 minutes or until done.
