We have been having awful heat here in Southern Indiana. Heat indexes of 110 PLUS! It was 123 last week. Just unbearable. I have been trying to do anything early in the morning and then keeping as much off as possible. There have been some power surges and a few of our lights have blown. So I try to just keep the bare minimum on. The AC!! We cleaned the central air thing over the weekend and changed the filter. Trying to make it work better! It hardly shuts off. I have it set at 74 and it is stuck at 76 just will not cool down in here at all. I made myself a sun bonnet ( prairie style ) for when I do have to go outside to do anything in the yard, like pick veggies, take out the trash, get the mail. This has just been a miserable summer after having had a miserable winter. Poor little one has not been able to play out and it is just awful. Hope that we get some relief soon.

Use a big box fan in conjunction with your AC it makes a big difference! And I'm in northern IN so not as hot but still, I feel ya.
I got our big fan out of the shed and you are right, it has made a huge difference. Thank you. I am not sure why I never thought of it , but it is much cooler in here and I covered the southern facing kitchen window too. Really h as helped.
