All Time Most Popular Post Of Prepared For Survival

I found out which one of my post on this blog is for all time. The one with the most traffic is the one about Map Of Fault Lines In The USA. That is so wild. The next one in line at a huge distance is the one about Converting a Truck or a van into a camper.

Pretty cool to see what people are reading and searching for on this blog. What is your favorite blog post??? Search back through the archives to see if you missed anything that was written on here. You never know. You might have missed something really interesting or important.

I hope to have even more to write about in the coming new year. WOW! 2012! What a year this is going to be. If things happen like people predict , we have a presidential election, and tons of other stuff. This is going to be a big year. I hope it is better than the last couple of years. I really hope that good things happen and that a lot of the predictions do not happen at all. But, just in case, we all need to be prepared for anything and everything. Get everything in order. Get right with God!!

How To Survive The Christmas Madness

Christmas is a much-anticipated event by many people worldwide that believe in Jesus Christ. A time of family get together, giving gifts, exchanging jokes and just remembering past mishaps that brings smile to everyone. In other words, it is a season of laughter, hope and love. However, the holiday season in reality is also the time of spending, stress and last minute shopping making it a dreadful season for some people because of the madness that comes with the Christmas preparation.

Many people anticipate the season with delight and open arms, but there are also people that consider Christmas as a horrible time because of the many things they need to do and buy. If you do not have the time and the money to spend this holiday season, you will definitely feel madness. But do not worry, you can easily overcome the Christmas madness even if things seems a bit crazy now that it is just a few days before Christmas Eve.

If you want to survive the holiday madness, following the simple tips below can help you.

• Stay on Budget - No matter what you see while shopping, stick to your list. If you have a limit per person make sure, you follow it. Letting the festive mood get into your nerves like what most people do every year will make you miserable after the holiday is over, especially if you have exhausted your credit cards.

• Plan Ahead - Planning the Christmas dinner way ahead can prepare you financially and physically. You can start making the menu and shops for everything you will need to avoid the Christmas rush.

• Pot Luck Can Save You Time and Money - if you are financially tight now, you can ask your siblings to bring their favorite dishes for sharing. Potluck is common and a good way to save money this holiday season.

• Delegate The Task - Doing everything can definitely be maddening, making the season horrible rather than enjoyable. So, delegate the workloads and believe me, they will appreciate being included in the preparation.

• Shop Online - If going to the malls to buy gifts is impossible for you, know that you can always shop online. Many people take advantage of online shopping to avoid traffic and crowded malls, so why not consider this option as well.

• Send Free Christmas Cards - Buying greetings cards on bookstore can already take a lot of time and so is mailing your cards. Hence, it is advisable to send Christmas cards online as you can save yourself from spending money and can avoid the hassle of driving to the post office. There is also no guarantee that your cards will arrived on time but with online greeting cards, you can greet everyone easily.

Staying sane this holiday season is easy if you will take advantage of things that offer you less hassle like sending free Christmas cards online.

Selecting good and heartwarming Christmas cards is always a challenge, but you can always find lots of good and cool Christmas cards at 365greetings, which provides free wallpapers and greetings for their visitors. You can select wonderful Christmas cards to send your friends, relatives and special someone to show you care.

Homemade Butter In A Jar

This is such a fun thing to do! It is easy to make your own butter in a jar. Have butter any time that you want it.

Use baby food jars to make small amounts. Make what you will use.

You need :

Heavy Cream and a jar with a lid.
Fill the jar about halfway with the heavy cream and make sure that the lid is on tight.

Shake the jar up and down until the cream in it thickens up and starts to stick together.

Open the jar up and pour out the liquid, which is now buttermilk, and the solid is now butter.

Knead the butter under cold running water for a few minutes to work out the remaining buttermilk.

You can knead in some salt at this point if you want to.

Refridgerate and use.

This is so simple that you can have your kids do this for you. Fun for them to do to. Make a game of it. Who can shake their cream into butter the fastest! LOL

Declutter For Survival

This might just be a good idea. Declutter your home and life could be a great survival tip. Just live on the bare essentials. Get used to it now, so that when the SHTF you already know what it is like to not have everything. I am trying to get less dependent on the internet and other electronics. I know this will be the first thing that I ( my whole family) will miss when SHTF. So , if I get used to not using it as much I won't miss it as much. I am also getting rid of a lot of things. We are a way too material society. We all have too many things that are just not useful. Or have too many things. Why do I need 3 and 4 of one item???? that I do not even use anyway and would not be useful if SHTF!! This is my New Years Resolution. I will declutter our home. Of everything that we do not need. I will also declutter our bills, our minds, our bodies, etc.

What is you survival resolution for 2012????

Food Storage Recipe - quesadillas

I took a photo of this but my camera is acting up again. So I just have to explain this.

quesadilla

1 cup of Taco Mix from Emergency Essentials You have to mix it up like the directions on the can. Easy enough.

1 can of diced tomatoes

shredded cheese

6 flour tortillas. I get mine at the Dollar Tree because they do not need to be kept in a fridge.

Take the tortillas and put butter on one side and lay it in a heated frying pan. Place the Taco Mix that I also added a can of diced tomatoes too. Just to doctor it up a bit.
Spread shredded cheese on top of meat. Place another buttered tortilla on top of that , butter side out. Fry in pan until lightly browned.
slice it up into slices, like a pizza.

I served ours with some noodles that I put chili on top of. I just used canned chili. Not a fancy meal , but it is filling and my family ate it. That is all that matters.
